Question: Based on your life experience, what has been your best age decade of your life?

Post on Facebook by Miyaji Keito, August 19, 2014.

The 40s has been so far the best decade of my life, and I’m sure it’ll get even better. I’ve learned that happiness is the key, and I don’t always need be right. As long as I know the truth, it doesn’t matter so much what other people think. I’m finally comfortable in my skin. I don’t fall apart when someone criticizes or disagrees with me. I’ve learned about forgiveness and about letting go of past hurts and mistakes. Having a positive attitude is the source of all the other good things that I’ve learned about myself and life. Thanks for being there on the journey!

Aloha Friday is the custom of “dressing down” on the last day of the work week and wearing a comfortable Aloha Shirt in lieu of typical business attire. While originating in the Hawaiian Islands, the idea has spread to the mainland and around the world in the more generic form of “casual Fridays” where, particularly in the summer months, employees are allowed to come to work in shorts, t-shirts and other casual attire. What year did Aloha Friday officially begin?

“It’s no joke to be caught in the crossfire of prejudice, and it’s no joke to live with the fear of being rejected, or vilified, or persecuted because of who you are… That fact is, we still hear homophobic comments and slurs bandied around as if they’re acceptable, harmless, just a bit of a laugh. Well it isn’t a laugh to a young person growing up, working out who they are, surrounded by an atmosphere of hostility. They can feel alone, isolated from their peers, isolated from their community and sometimes even their family.” ~Senator Penny Wong
