DIY: Lemon & Honey Glowing Facial

Posted on Updated on

Honey is known as the miracle cure for skin of all types. It’s been used since ancient times to treat cuts, burns and is a natural antibacterial and anti-infammatory. It absorbs impurities from the pores and the skin. Lemon brightens and exfoliates. It’s great for acne prone skin, age and sun spots or uneven skin tone. It is also a natural source of vitamin C and rich in alpha hydroxy acids.

What you need

Directions

Cut lemon into slices (lemon wheels), pick out any seeds. Add 1 teaspoon honey to the lemon wheel and gently exfoliate your face with the lemon and honey. (You can squeeze out any excess lemon juice from the lemon wheel and apply to you face if you like.) Leave mixture on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Pat gently with a towel to dry. Let your skin breathe for the rest of the day, or follow up with your favorite moisturizer and serum.

QUICK DIY TIP: How to Brighten your Smile with Strawberries

Posted on Updated on

Have you ever wanted whiter teeth, but couldn’t afford the high price to do so? Not to mention, most whitening treatments can be harsh for those with sensitive teeth.

This simple DIY treatment to help brighten your smile. The secret to this inexpensive home whitening method is malic acid, which acts as an astringent to remove surface discoloration. Combined with baking soda, strawberries become a natural tooth-cleanser, buffing away stains from wine, coffee, and dark sodas.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe Strawberry
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking soda

Directions
Mash strawberry with 1/2 tsp of baking soda. Apply using a soft toothbrush to spread the mixture onto your teeth, let sit for 3-5 minutes, then rinse and brush thoroughly with toothpaste. NOTE: It’s best to apply this treatment only once a week – the acid can damage the enamel on your teeth if you overdo it.

DIY Collagen-Boosting Eye Cream

Posted on Updated on

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

An easy DIY natural moisturizing cream that targets that delicate under-eye area and boosts collagen production, using just three ingredients.

  • 1/2 c. Coconut Oil –  is an excellent hydrate for the skin. It sinks in deep, conditions, moisturizes, and softens skin. It doesn’t contain petroleum byproducts like many commercial cleansers or lotions either. Coconut oil naturally clears away dirt, grime, and dead skin cells. It even has some antibacterial properties, killing off harmful bacteria.
  • 2-3 capsules Vitamin E –  is a fat-soluble vitamin that serves as an antioxidant, protecting the skin from damage due to free radicals. Free radicals harm the skin on a cellular level, leading to wrinkles, lines and age spots. As a result, vitamin E can help protect the skin from these common signs of aging.
  • 2-3 drops Rose Oil – Containing vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, rose essential oil has excellent emollient properties for moisturizing dry skin; it can also help refine skin texture, controlling skin diseases such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.

Mix together.
